We all do it. We all think how we can advertise ourselves.
The idea is simple. I have something and is there anyone interested in what I have.
Advertising is one way of trying to get someone's attention. There are of course many other ways.
We came out with a slogan, Buy Smmol Save Big. We what are trying to say is that the farms that you
are buying from are family run farms that are usually small farms.
The florists that we sell to are also usually small family run type operations.
Our Prices are smaller or less than your alternative, and the amounts that you order are usually small orders.
But the savings can be very big. We only sell those products that we are sure we can give the best possible price. That's
why most of the flowers are specialty flowers, and not commodity flowers.
The lower price comes from the fact that you are buying directly from us. The Growers.
Also we have found ways to transport the flowers, in a very quick and relatively inexpensive way. that's why
you save money.
The quality...well our philosophy is very simple.. we want to sell the top 10% of our quality for
top dollar, so the quality is the cherry on top of the whipped cream, on top of the cake. That's It.
Going back to advertising, we had other ideas
Smmol is big...we are not just Smmol...Think big buy Smmol...Smmol luck big fortune

As the say in football-the 2 minute warning has been sounded or as they say in our football (soccer)-the 90th minute.
Yes the biggest flower show on earth is just around the corner.
It begins this Wednesday (11/5)-In the Rai in Amsterdam.
Its a combined show-floriculture and agro-technology.
The biggest show you can imagine.
All the airlines that haul agricultural goods will be there, all the biggest logistics handlers, the breeders, techno
companies, innovators, growers will be competing for the best flowers, Almost all the flower boards and flower associations
from all over the world will be there, all the magazines and press agents....welll I guess you got the picture.
www.agriflor.com is where you can get the who's who and the what's what.
An article by Fred van Veldhoven in the October issue of floriculture international talks about the
need to attend or not to attend these shows. Its always a question of how much business you really can get done (usually 0)
and what will "they say" if you don't show. These shows are expensive, beside the stand and display you have to lodge
the staff, taxis, food, get-to-gethers, and other niceties.
If its a mixture of culture, or a deep believe that a first class exhibition will always justify the expense, then you
must go. If you ask a swot* analyst- I am sure you will pack you bags and be the first to arrive, but mind you there is always
more than one way of doing business.
For the florist it is really important at least once in a few years to go to such a show. I have already talked about
the importance of going to shows on my article on
posted July 2nd .
As for SMMOL we have decided to attend small regional shows in the next few years to come, we believe we will have more
input and more impact.
