This week 2 of my favorite Thai workers went back home. They have been with me for a while
and as happens many times they have become part of the family. You get used to people, and it is always a nice feeling
to get up in the morning and find familiar face.
But it is not only about feelings, its also about running a professional business. The flower
industry is very demanding and if I want to receive top $ for my product I better be ready to produce the finest specimen,
and I have to do this every day all the time, winter spring summer or fall. Rain or shine, cold or hot, in any
weather, and overcome any problems that arise. My clients don't care if my tractor broke down, if the sprayer isn't working,
if there is a cold or hot spell, if the bugs or the whitefly are attacking my flowers, if my government is anti-agriculture
the end result has to be perfect.
This can only be accomplished if the work force is dedicated, if the workers are professional,
And loyal. and in order for this to happen I have to respect my workers. Give them all the right tools, and proper training,
know what to demand, and respect their needs. That's how I believe I can achieve my goals.
Back to the going away party. Here are some pictures I took from a grand party for my

Many times I have mentioned how important it is to be able to discuss the many issues that come
up.
One fact is certain

ifferent people have Different ways of doing things
That is why it is so important to meet on a regular basis and hear different
approaches that people have.I am not only talking about the different farming issues, or the mechanics of marketing, but also
about our community
"should we fix the pool for a lump sum of $150,000"?
"should the municipality buy another school bus"?
where is the latest hot spot for a vacation?
can you trust the new minister of Agriculture?
is the latest tire deal the mechanic is offering any good?
how late is late for the kids to stay out and where the hell where they last night.
?
Don't get the impression that our parliament discusses, decides and votes on any
of these issues--no way if we did that what we discuss tomorrow? how would we update each other if we did such a stupid
thing as to decide on anything-- Our parliament gathers every day between 16:30-17:00 at the cafe Bar-moa over a cup of coffee
(sometimes beer)
So if you ever find yourself on the Arava Road (dead sea-red sea road) between these
hours and you want to see some authentic farmers doing what they love to do most---talk-- come on by and visit our Parliament
