We watch with complete amazement and aw as the U.S. combats hurricane Katrina.
I have been closely following this development since, as you all know I am a freak for logistcs, for suplies chains, and
handling.
This is a very sad story where it looks like the people who could or should have done something did'nt.
It's a story where people were told to evacuate, long before Katrina hit the coast ,but, did'nt really believe their
own words, how else can you explain the lack of resolve to evacuate, those that have no means of evacuation.
CNN says 50,000 households in New Orleans don't have cars, what were they supposed to do?
Hospitals, hotels, elderly homes all these were not taken care of.....Of course some of these people didn't think they
should be evacuated, only making this more impossible.
Now we hear of shooting, looting, all the bad sides of human nature...again it's 2 sided
Probably many were just trying to survive, looting food or medical shops...while others are just bad human beings.
It all boils down to 2 things..
If you believe in what you say DO IT don't just say it
Logisitcs, how to move what has to moved to the places you want it moved
Unfortunately for the citizens living in those areas that were affected both were missing.
My heart is with all those suffering
